Coalesce, an urban food hub located in New Orleans, LA, is a centralized hot spot for a diversity of people. Located in the heart of City Park, Coalesce is nestled beside one of several ponds within the area and is easily accessible from vehicular, pedestrian, bike, and bus circulation routes. Coalesce’s main goal is to give back to the people. With a hydroponic system flowing throughout the basalt fiber support structure, the food hub generates fresh produce for the locals, cleaner air for the surrounding areas, and purified water for on-site use while also being available at no cost.
The main goal of the Urban Food Hub is to bring the community together and promote growth. this Growth is not only in the areas of produce and water security, but also in teaching skills such as gardening, cooking, and fostering relationships with one another.
